Silicon Valley Chefs, Wineries and Donors Join Diane Rose in Los Gatos, Ca. for 3rd Annual Chefs Bite Back

Local Chefs, Wineries and Donors have joined with Diane Rose, Chef and Owner of Crimson Restaurant to host the 3rd Annual Chefs Bite Back, cooking to fight hunger. The Event, open to the public, will be held on Sunday, May 22 on the Patio of Crimson Restaurant at 15466 Los Gatos Blvd. Featured signature dishes by several local chefs paired with specially selected wines from the area will be served at stations during the afternoon from 2pm until 6pm.

The Chefs and Restaurants who will hosts these stations are AP Stumps, Chef David McWilliam, Crimson Restaurant, Chef Diane Rose, Donner Truffles, Chef Marc Rose, Emile’s Restaurant, Chef Emile Mooser, Eulipia, Chef Eric Tosh, Forbes Mill Steakhouse, Chef Jess V. LeDesma, Jen’s Cakes, Chefs Jennifer & Anthony Kwapinski, LePapillon, Chef Scott Cooper, Manresa Restaurant, Chef David Kinch, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme, Chef Vince Guasch, Picasso’s, Chef Julio Garcia, Siena Mediterranean Bistro, Chef Martha Duke, Tapestry California Bistro, Chef Gary Messick, Valeriano’s, Chefs Eric Tosh & Dan Tosh. Wineries that will be participating in the event include Alexander Cellars, Argentium, Inc., Byington Vineyard & Winery, Clos La Chance Winery, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Coyote Canyon, David Bruce Winery, Fernwood Cellars, Fleming-Jenkins Winery, Glenwood Oaks Winery, La Rusticana D’Orsa Vineyards, Los Gatos Brewery, Mount Eden Vineyards, Pietra Santa, Ridge Vineyards, Sarah’s Vineyards, Steven Kent, Thomas Forgarty, Thunder Mountain, Zayante Vineyard.

The afternoon will also feature live music from San Jose Jazz Society.

Diane Rose, as a way to bring the best of the best together to help fight hunger, created Chefs Bite Back in 2003. Diane says, “Those of us who have a passion for creating food also have a true passion to help those who do not have food.” This year the event will be larger than any other year and has been underwritten by sponsorships as well as by donations of the generous chefs and wineries. Jo Mar Laboratory and Carol Burnett of Alain Pinel Realtors were first on board. Carol says, “This opportunity to be a part of helping feed the hungry of Santa Clara County make us especially proud to be a major sponsor.”

In 2004, over 250 guests participated in this food and wine event. This year because of the great support from the donors, the Live and Silent Auction will include some of the following extordinary items:

· Private Winemaker Dinner for Ten (10): Fleming Jenkins winery will collaborate with Chefs Diane Rose and Eric Tosh to provide an exquisite Winemaker Dinner for ten at the Home of Lori and Florian Barth in the hills of Los Gatos.

· Byington Winery and Vineyard will host a private Tour and Tasting for 30 people. This tour is not available to the public and is a one of a kind.

· Bill and Brenda Murphy of Clos La Chance have offered a VIP Tour and Tasting for ten people and promise that this tour will be top drawer.

· Diamond Earrings from Lovelady Diamonds and hand fabricated, 20 mm Chinese writing Stone earrings from Gehrkens Fine Jewelry & Design.

· Mendocino Wine Affair Package for Two

· Dolium Malbec 2001: Varietal: 100% Malbec – Dolium produces their wine in Mendoza River Valley, one of the most famous viticultural areas in Argentina
