David Grisman Quintet Flutist of 22 years, Stretches out With his own the Matt Eakle Band for a Night of Jazz Fusion at The Osher Marin JCC

San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) January 05, 2012

The Matt Eakle Band

Thurs. Feb. 16 @ 7:30

An evening of jazz fusion from Marin local favorite and flutist extraordinaire Matt Eakle and his band, filling the Hoytt theater with music and cocktails with a twist. With Alex Baum on bass, Jack Dorsey on drums, and Joey Edelman on keyboard, the Matt Eakle Band highlights the long history of four brilliant musicians whose synergy is a force of nature.

The Matt Eakle Band was chosen by the Marin Independent Journal as one of “The Best of the Local Sound” for 2010, an honor given to, “…artists that you should have been listening to this past year.” Paul Liberatore writes: “This is a deep groove band playing jazz fusion at the highest level, showcasing musicians who not only know how to play, but how to listen.”

We perform all original material, says Matt, music that blends the classic sounds of rock, blues, soul, jazz, with the musical traditions of Africa, India and South America.

Head-turning, jaw dropping, spell-binding, adrenaline-pumping jams that transfix and transport. The Matt Eakle Band and their CD, Hardly Work prove just how powerful flute-fired fusion can be.
