Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. and The Ibla Foundation of New York will present the 2005 World Piano Teachers Associates Conference on Saturday, April 9 at 6 PM to 10 PM and Sunday, April 10 from 10 AM to 10 PM at the Piano Salon at Yamaha Artist Services, 689 Fifth Avenue at 54th Street in Manhattan.

The conference will present a remarkable series of concerts and seminars that will explore the vast and wonderful universe of piano music, from across the centuries and around the world. A distinguished array of internationally acclaimed performers and speakers will share their enthusiastic views about music and the art of performing in one of the most acoustically advanced and exciting halls in New York, the newly built Piano Salon at Yamaha Artist Services.

Among the speakers scheduled to appear throughout the two days are such internationally renowned piano pedagogues and teachers as Guenter Reinhold from Karlsruhe, Germany, Anna Rutkowska-Schock of Wroclaw, Poland, Valentin Surif from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ivon Maria Pek Pien from Surabaya, Indonesia, Carla Giudici of Ragusa, Italy and Hermira Gjoni from Tirana, Albania.

Ibla Grand Prize-Winning performers who will perform on Sunday, April 10 include pianists Anna Rutkowska Schock (Poland), Chie Sato Roden (Japan), Jani Aarrevaara (Finland), Nathan Carterette (USA), Gennsly Ediansyah Syams (Indonesia), Atsuko Seta (Japan), Gesa Luecker, (Germany), Soyeon In (Korea), as well as duo-pianist teams Vincenzo and Francesco Destefano (Italy) and Helen Sim (USA) and Ning-Wu Du (China).

The Ibla Foundation in New York City organizes an annual music competition for pianists, singers, instrumentalists and composers which takes place during the last week of June and the first week of July in Ragusa Ibla, in the southeastern corner of Sicily. Winners are presented the following year in such venues as Carnegie Hall in New York, Tokyo Opera City Hall, Tchaikovsky Bolshoi Hall in Moscow as well as other prestigious venues in Canada, Europe, Russia and the USA.

The International 450 Association in conjunction with Informa Telecoms & Media held its most successful Plenary in the association’s history in October of this year.

Participants from over 20 member countries attended the bi-annual meeting for the key players, innovators and decision makers in the 450 community.
