4TH ANNUAL WEST COAST SALSA CONGRESS UNITE DANCERS AND SALSA AFFICIANDOS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Los Angeles, CA – Albert Torres Productions will present The 4th Annual West Coast Salsa Congress at the Hollywood Park Casino May 24th through 26th, 2002, during the Memorial day weekend, attracting people from around the world. Including Salsa spectators from countries as far away as Antarctica to controversial countries Israel and Lebanon. Participants from some of the other countries include France, United Kingdom, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, China and Australia.

The 4th Annual West Coast Salsa Congress is dedicated to “Creating Unity through Salsa.” Presenting an annual event for people of all ages and all walks of life and cultures to unite and enjoy through the common ground of Salsa. This year’s event is expected to bring over three-thousand (3000) dancers and participants from over thirty countries to Los Angeles to dance and celebrate Latin Culture with over a thousand locals. Annually The West Coast Salsa Congress has in the past attracted many Southland local celebrities and politicians including Andy Garcia, Nate Holden, Jimmy Smitts, Elliot Gould, Nicholas Gonzales and Eva Longoria.

The 4th Annual West Coast Salsa Congress will feature dancing from 8:00pm to 4:00am nightly to notable performances by such Latin music legends as Oscar D’Leon Y Su Orquesta, Jose Alberto “El Canario” Y Su Orquesta, Sonora Carruseles, Ray De La Paz, Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad, Freddie Crespo Y Su Mambo Revue, Orquesta Son Mayor and 15-year-old timbale sensation and his young group Manolo Y Su Revolucion Juvenil.

With over one-hundred (100) dance teams presenting their cultural interpretation of Salsa dancing, nightly dance performances will feature many of Salsa superstars from around the world, including unique Salsa dance groups such as Jazzy& Bente (Norway), Salsa With Attitude (Singapore), Salsa Locos (Japan), Salsa Dreamers (South Korea), Salsa Con Clave (Mexico), Mas Salsa (Germany), Club Latino (Sweden), Salsa N’Jazz (France), New Latin Ballet (Italy), Mambo Swingers (Spain), Salsa Dance Squad (Holland), Swing Rumbero (Argentina), Dance Dynamics (Australia) Salsamanos (Canada), Felipe Polanco Dancers (Puerto Rico), among many others. In addition to the adult dance teams being presented, a large contingency of youth dance teams will be performing such as L.A. Salsa Kids, and from New York Young Ambition, Hearbreak Boyz, The Jr, Hearbreak Boyz and The Sweethearts.

Professional instructors will host over thirty (30) beginner, intermediate, and advanced dance workshops all day Saturday and Sunday, beginning with a Cardio-Salsa workout, and including a special Cuban style workshop presented by Cuban-born Ramon Ramos Alayo. The 4th Annual West Coast Salsa Congress has earned the global distinction among salsa lovers and dancers as the leading Salsa Congress to attend.

13th Annual Los Angeles Salsa & Bachata Congress Moves To Westin Bonaventure Hotel

Due to the enormous demand to be part of the new L.A. this years four-day event of Salsa music and dancing has moved to the newly renovated Westin Bonaventure located at 404 S Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA. The Los Angeles Salsa Congress is the ultimate Salsa experience containing a stage for live dance performances and concerts, pool parties with international DJs, general public dancing every evening till 4am and vendor booths with plenty of Salsa lifestyle products for music lovers of all ages.

The Los Angeles Salsa Congress every year is dedicated to Creating Unity through Salsa, an annual event for people of all ages and cultures to enjoy the common ground of the art of Salsa music and dance. The 13th Annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress & Bachata Room will have a Pre Congress party on Thursday May 26, 2011, beginning at 8pm at The Mayan located at 1038 South Hill St. The event will then move to the Westin Bonaventure where we will feature daily workshops for beginners, intermediates and pros beginning on Friday May 27 from 9am to 4pm. Pool party from noon to 5pm. Afternoon shows from 4:30-5:30 and the evening doors open at 7pm. At 7:30pm-8:30pm, we will host the qualifiers (competition) for The World Latin Dance Cup as seen on ESPN, to beheld December 14-17, 2011 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. At 8:30pm each evening we highlight some of the best Salsa / Bachata dancers in the World. These dancers of all ages will mesmerize you each evening. Different shows every night. After the shows there will be a combination of Live Music and International DJs till 4am.

This year the bands are on Thursday, Chino Espinoza Y Los Duenos Del Son at The Mayan located at 1038 South Hill St. On Friday, Victor Manuelle (El Sonero De La Juventud) & His Full Orchestra From Puerto Rico will be performing at The Westin Bonaventure. On Saturday, performing on the West Coast for the first time, Grupo Latin Vibe from New York. On Sunday, Two Concerts, for the first time at a Salsa Congress one of the most requested Bachata bands, XTREME and the second concert to close this holiday weekend, from Puerto Rico the voice of the millennium, Choco Orta backed by the hottest West Coast Salsa Band, Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad.

With attendance up over 30% this years congress is expected to bring over 8,000 dancers and Salsa fans from around the world to travel to Los Angeles to dance and celebrate with thousands of southland locals. In addition to nightly dance and music performances, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy 74 workshops and music history seminars on Salsa music and dance.
