KUA.net Featured on Radio Disney

Kissimmee, Fla. (PRWEB) May 8, 2006

Equipping children with the skills they need to safely navigate the Internet is the subject of a 30-minute talk show on Radio Disney this Saturday, May 13.

The interview is part of the weekly Kids’ Concerns Show that airs in Central Florida on Saturdays at 9 a.m. on WDYZ AM 990.

Radio Disney kidcasters K.T. and Gabe interview two Internet experts from KUA.net, a Kissimmee-based Internet service provider owned by Kissimmee Utility Authority. These experts include vice president of information technology Jef Gray and Internet systems coordinator Jason Borders.

“Most parents know that the Internet can be a valuable resource for their children,” said Gray. “What they might not realize is that children can encounter dangerous situations on the Web — from viewing inappropriate materials to being asked for face-to-face meetings with strangers.”

The show addresses topics involving the safe use of the Internet, email, instant messaging and chatrooms. The program also provides important information on the use of passwords and the protection of personal information.

“As an Internet provider in our community since 1998, KUA.net has a responsibility to share both the benefits and dangers of the Internet,” said Gray. “This radio program addresses the important issues while keeping the message simple and fun.”
